One Size Doesn’t Fit All
When looking for a lawyer, the first question that crosses many people’s minds is, “Can I afford one?” We think a better question is, “Will I be better off for having spent the money when the process is over?” We set out to make the answer to that question an emphatic, “Yes.”
At Rubric Legal, our goal is to make sure our clients receive value that is greater than the cost of our services. We achieve this through consistent and frank communication, effective and efficient advocacy, and the ability to craft creative legal solutions for our clients.
The Specifics
So what exactly does that mean in dollars and cents? The answer—as is often the case with lawyers—is, “It depends.” What it depends on is what type of legal work you need, what kind of organization you are, and what your goals are.
- Most important to understand is that we want you to ask questions, fully understand, and be comfortable with our fees.
- Sometimes we bill on an hourly rate. For nonprofit and exempt organization clients, we work on a sliding fee scale that is based on whether the organization is (or will be) a public charity and what its gross annual revenues and assets are.
- Sometimes, we don’t bill by the hour, and instead, we tailor a fixed-fee arrangement that fits your circumstances so you know in advance what our services will cost.
- In litigation, we’ll lay out each of the phases you can expect in the lawsuit, estimating fees for each phase in advance. You’ll know what’s coming up in your case and be prepared for what it will cost.
- For clients who find they need legal questions answered or documents reviewed on an ongoing basis, our lawyers can serve as your outside general counsel for a regular monthly fee. The services provided and the fees are tailored to each client’s needs.
